Student testimonial
"I now always attempt to operate on the side of faith, trust and risk. By operating in this manner and not letting the stops keep me down, my self esteem has improved." E.C., Bulkeley High School
"This seminar has helped me in many ways. It has showed me that I can achieve goals that are even higher than my expectations. It has also shown me that what other people think is impossible is possible and that no matter what people say to discourage you, you need to keep on going and always know you can and there are no limits to what you can do." M.H., New Britain High School
"My life right now is a lot better because of the things that I've learned from this seminar. I think more before I react." S.C., Prince Tech

Youth Business Fair
The Youth Business Fair is the culminating event of the Entrepreneurial Course for High School Students. After only eight weeks, teams of students showcase and sell their products to family, friends, educators, administrators, business people and the community. The businesses are as varied and creative as the students’ visions
Past youth business fairs have showcased such businesses as gift baskets for all occasions, international foods (Polish, Chinese, and Ecuadorian), web services, furniture assembly services, fleece quilts and blankets, socks, gloves, scarves, gourmet hand-made candies, personalized picture frames, customized vases, pies and cheesecakes, gel candles, jewelry, T-shirts, fashion accessories, men’s and women’s fragrances, decorative pillows and more. The Youth Business Fairs are held in such places as the Connecticut Expo Center and the Connecticut Convention Center to provide a remarkable marketplace environment where the students can really shine.
Youth Business Fair attendees are astounded at the excitement generated and confidence and maturity exhibited by the student business owners. It is at the Youth Business Fair where attendees see firsthand what students achieve through their own efforts, with minimal supervision, what seems impossible – launching a real business in less than nine weeks. Proud and confident, the students know they are leaders, and envision a successful future and know they now have the skills to be successful in life and in business. The students’ commitment to their vision of themselves as successful, coupled with the skills they develop through relevant, real-time education provided through the Course, gives them the experience of success which keeps them motivated in school and in life.
